27 Living Room Interior Wall - Reconstruction

03.11.2012 : Saturday

Work starts at the center of the wall, as seen in entry 24 that shows the placement of the main ceiling beam on the new post and capital on the side of the door. The first photograph shows the whole Esat Demirel-crew along with my father: (from left to right) Şevket Usta, İsmail Usta, Serkan and Salih Usta.

The next step is the reinforcement of the existing vertical support next to the brick wall, and the placement of the new capital and the beam tying this part of the interior wall together on the top.

The next step involves the placement of the posts and capitals on the other end of this interior wall, next to the side façade. Again, the existing old post within the exterior side wall is kept in place, and a new 6x12cm post is placed next to it, supporting the capital carrying the top beam.

Finally, the timber-frame of this living room interior wall is finished! Even the door is re-mounted for the time being.
